For the theme transportation, the children were brought to see Sea Transportation. What better to see this than by the sea! Teachers brought the children to the Woodlands Waterfront where the long jetty allows children to clearly see any ships, yacht or speedboat on Singapore or Malaysian waters!

What is an excursion without any fun? Children busied themselves with the playground there and challenge themselves with obstacles far bigger than themselves...

27 Jan 2011: Marina Barrage and Healthzone!

For the first trip of the year, we headed down to Healthzone! In line with our theme "Myself", we explored our body, health tips and many more! Children enjoyed games and played with the exhibitions on display. They learned many things too! :)

After Healthzone, we headed to Marina Barrage to enjoy the cool breeze and played kites under the sun. We were fortunate to have experienced a cool sunny day! Perfect for the picnic we have planned :)

Christmas Day!

Christmas was a blast. The Thompsons invited us to their lovely home for the Christmas party! They children had a wonderful time playing games, eating delicious food and exhanging gifts with Santa! Hahaha. A picture says a thousand words, and we have a few. :) Enjoy!

Underwater World!

Underwater World! Yes we went to the UNDERWATER WORLD where the sea creatures of various kinds were there for us to see.

The children were very excited for the visit. We head there early in our bus (we didn't want to miss anything!)

Right after we reached there, we headed to their Dolphin lagoon to watch the dolphin show. Those pink dolphins were amazing! They were so fast! And boy were they able to play ball :D here check out these shots we took!

The trainer told us how we could differentiate the sea mammals (like the dolphins and whales) from the sharks. (Check out their tails; sharks tails are vertical and they move left to right to swim forward while sea mammals' tails are horizontal and they move up and down to swim forward) Cool eh?

Anyway, we then head back to have our lunch (mee hoon and bananas? wow!) before heading in the oceanarium to look at the other sea creatures in close proximity (divided by the glass of course) on the travellator. Children pointed out many kinds of sea creatures. They saw the giant Japanese crabs, the jellyfishes (isolated of course), the sea horses, the stingrays and MANY MORE!

After about 3 rounds on the travellator, we went back upstairs to the 1st level. We then headed to the touching pool where we touched stingrays and fed them!

We made our way to the dolphin lagoon one more time to catch the show with the sea lions. We then made our way back to the entrance and waited for the bus to send us back home. It was an enjoyable day indeed. We would like to thank all parents to joined us for the trip and hoped they had as much fun as we did. Thank you!!!

The HMAS Parramatta

Elo people!

Yesterday, 30 August 2010, Glucklich Schoolhouse (it means everyone) got to go onboard an Australian NAVY SHIP! The HMAS Parramatta was one big frigate! The children looked really tiny next to it. Okay so now the story begins...

At 1000hrs yesterday morning, we boarded a chartered bus to the Sembawang Wharves. The bus had to go through several security to get to the ship. The children did not show much enthusiasm (compared to the teachers)... that was until they saw the ship!

Going up the ship by itself was interesting enough. Most of the children were not afraid at all! Even the littlest one. Check this out:

The officer then brought us into narrow corridors and to the side of the ship. We got to see a side of Sembawang Park that we have never seen before! (the blue sky, fluffy clouds and sea breeze were icing on the cake).

Hehe anyway, the officer brought us through some more doors and walkways and she led us up very steep ladders. We are very proud of our little ones! They were able to climb up and down with no problem at all! :)

After the second ladder, we were greeted with a room full of buttons, knobs and meters! It's called the Bridge. That is where the officers did their navigation and control the ship, and where the captain sat and where MANY THINGS HAPPEN!

After exploring the bridge and sitting on the captain's chair (sorry captain!), we made our way back down for a little surprise.

Seb's mom brought us to the room where all the officers have their meals. She and the officers gave us (the teachers too) NAVY bracelets and NAVY balloons! Hehe. And they even have a Chef! And that chef prepared us a banquet of snacks!!! They were very very sweet people! They provided us with sandwiches, chocolate cakes, cookies, gummy worms/bears/fruits, fries (with ketchup) and cute little pancakes with cream on top!!! Here's proof:

After the meal (thank you for the meal!), we made our way through doors and narrow walkways back to the helicopter pad. Where we took last minute pictures :P

After that, Seb's mom gave us one more souvenir; lightsticks that last for up to 12 hours! Apparently, officers carry this when they are onboard the ship. If an accident were to occur and they are thrown off the ship, they will crack the lightstick and this will serve as easy guide for the search and rescue team to find them :) cool eh.

We boarded the chartered bus and headed back to school. It was such an AWESOME tour that the children were still talking about it in the bus.

We would like to thank the Thompsons for organising this very special tour, and the Royal Australian Navy's staff and crew for their very warm hospitality. We are very honoured to have been treated with this rare opportunity. The children had a lot of fun while learning a lot of things. Thank you!

Mila Missing!

Glucklich Schoolhouse is sad to inform everyone that our pet chicken; Mila is missing. We found out that Mila went wandering to our neighbour's backyard on Sunday 1 August (when no one was in school) to take cover from a preying cat. SHE HAS NOT BEEN SEEN SINCE.

Our children have been searching for Mila since we noticed her missing but we have not succeeded. We seek your cooperation to call and inform us if you see any wandering miniature chicken in your backyard. It might just be Mila. She is more than just a chicken. She is OUR pet.

Tribal Council

It was dark at Pasir Ris park and some of Glucklich Staff were waiting for the arrival of guests for... Glucklich Familie Feier 2010: Tribal Council.

When the guests alighted from the buses, they were greeted with garlands and lightsticks. They then walked through the winding path to the Tribal Council where on the way there they met with their facilitators and helpers. They made a quick pitstop to the toilet and helped get the children in their costumes.

They walked somemore and were seated on the benches according to their team colour with their respective facilitators. Teacher Nor welcomed guests with an opening speech and declared the campfire OPEN!

Spirits of the North, South, East and West.

The K2's had their certificate presentation ceremony right after the opening of the campfire. However, they did not want to go back to sit with their parents. They stayed and sat together until the end of the campfire instead :) Some of you might have never experienced campfires before while some might have more than enough. So what do we do during campfires? We SING! Our Glucklich children burst into songs led by our MCs for the day Teacher Hani and our very own K2 child; Shruthika.

There were dances too! Children danced to the "Hula Song" and "I like to Move it Move it". AND then... the parents got involved. They had a dressup competition; Hawaiian Style. They were given newspapers, coloured papers and a whole load of scotchtapes to make a Hawaiian inspired costume :) Of course they improvised with whatever they could find. These items include (1) lightsticks, (2) rafia strings and (3) more lightsticks (which was a good thing too because it was dark and the lightsticks sure did help). Our facilitators could not decide on any winner so in the end EVERYBODY won.

Singing continued loud into the night. We even danced a friendship dance around the fire! Unfortunately though, some of our parents had to leave early due to unforeseen circumstances. :( Still, the remaining parents had their last song "Glucklich Spirit" before Teacher Nor declared the campfire closed.

Parents then had supper around the campfire accompanied with live music played by our talented facilitators. Parents had rice, honey chicken, samosa and mushroom veges. Slurp... Teachers then gave away Familie Feier 2010 souvenirs, that the children and teachers worked so hard to prepare, to guests of the Tribal Council. :) Parents then slowly walked back to the entrance to take the chartered bus back to Glucklich Schoolhouse.

We hope our parents enjoyed this year's Familie Feier as much as we did. We would like to thank all parents for attending and supporting our event. Many many thanks to the teachers and staff of Glucklich Schoolhouse for their help and effort put in. Special thanks to Teacher Hani for organising this fun-filled event, also to Pei Xian, Peini, Aidil, Akil, Salihin, Khidir, Farah and Sri, for their help and making this event wonderful! Thank you all. :)

Singapore Garden Festival!!!

Hello everyone!!!

It's been a long time since the last update. But here's one right now! :)

We recently (hmm last Thursday, 15 July 2010) went to see the Singapore Garden Festival at Suntec City. It was BEAUTIFUL. We seriously recommend this for a family outing for the following reasons:

lots of colourful flowers used for BEAUTIFUL garden designs
lots of ideas for garden at home (yes HDB too... cool eh)
it's HUGE (with 2 storeys 4th & 6th with lots to see. it's spacious too; so no need to worry about strollers if you're bringing little children)
lots of vendors selling flowers & gardening related stuff
AND it's indoors and air conditioned (no need to worry about unpredictable weather)
oh n it's at Suntec City, if all else fail, you could always shop ;)

So, we left the school at about 10.30 am. We took a chartered bus all the way to Suntec City.

We then headed straight to the 6th floor (straight if you exclude toilet stops hehe). When we went inside, the first thing we saw was an exploding splash of colours. We saw garden designs in various concepts i.e. Chinese Garden, English Garden, Kampong Garden etc. There was even a remake of a tropical rainforest complete with water fountains!!! There were variations in the designs for example, the Chinese Garden was subtly divided into modern and traditional. The teachers took every opportunity to stop and explain to the children whenever they see a familiar flower.

We also had a guided tour (by Pauline, the staff there). She was very helpful in explaining the significance of the design to the children and was so ready to answer the children's questions. Thank you Pauline! Anyway, after we walked through the whole of the 6th floor (well almost), we headed down for lunch. We sat at the cafeteria and ate sandwiches! We had tuna, egg and chocolate sandwich (thank you aunty for packing for us!). We then had round 2; this time at the 4th floor.

hmm next stop...

There, we were greeted with a whole range of ORCHIDS! There were white, yellow, orange, red (red!!!) and blue orchids!!! There were all sorts of orchids; pure bred orchids, big orchids, tiny orchids, we even saw one hybrid of orchid and a pitcher plant that gave off a funky smell (honest!!!). There were vendors selling all sorts of gardening related stuff. There was a minute garden above our heads that can only be looked through a periscope (how cool was that??). Of course our children had to try and explore all the periscopes (and we were more than happy to let them). They were pleasantly surprised to see something through it :)

We walked to the rest of the exhibits after that. We saw garden designs in HDBs, flower related arts and crafts by primary school children (which gave our teachers lots of ideas for their own classrooms :D) and we even got to play with a tablet PC (teachers too!).

Cute eh? Hehehe.

Overall, it was quite a lot to see at the exhibition. Our children were excited to explore the exhibition (sadly no touching :( was allowed ). But we still had a fun time at the Singapore Garden Festival. We headed for school after that and like always, almost all the children fell asleep in the bus ride back (and like always, the teachers did too). We'd like to thank the parents that joined us for the trip. We hope you had a blast and we hope you would join us again in the not so distant future :)

How to Train Your Dragon 3D!!!

Hello Everyone!!!

Well, we just had our Woodlands Town visit on Tuesday and the highlight was watching HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 3D!!! Muahahaha. Everyone was excited (the teachers even more) to watch this 3D animation on the big screen. But... before we get carried away with the excitement, let us run you through the whole outing from the beginning.

After buying our tickets, we headed to our first stop of our Woodlands Town Tour ; which was the National Library. We went to read and borrowed books in the 4-storey library. We sat under the tree, snuggled up to a mushroom (those who went there before would understand) and read them books. One of our children asked the librarian what she does...

Child: "Hi! Are you a librarian?"
Librarian: "Yes"
Child: "What do you do?"
Librarian: "I work in the library."
Child: "I know~. But... what do you do?"
(the librarian explains further her duties in the library)

After our library visit, we headed to Causeway Point to visit the various Community Helpers that we can find there. On the way to Causeway Point, we saw a Banker, a Policeman and a Chef.

At Causeway Point, we visited the Optometrist and had her say a little something about what she does. We then visited the Cobbler and Keymaker to see how they polish shoes and carve keys. We also saw the DVD rental store and a Money Changer! We briefly explain to children that different countries use different currency. And when visiting other countries, we need to use their money. So the place to change the money is the... MONEY CHANGER! :)

We took the lift to the seventh floor and sat down at the Banquet. We had Chicken Rice for lunch and papaya for dessert. After which, we bought Popcorns (no movie is complete without popcorns :)) and headed in the theatre for the show!

How To Train Your Dragon in 3D! Awesome!

The children were given special spectacles for them to wear (for the 3D effect). Unfortunately for our toddlers, the spectacles given was too big for them. So instead of resting on their ears, the spectacles rested on their noses :)

After our movie, there was only one thing left to do. Head home :) So all of us took the bus and head back to school. We children and teachers alike) had a wonderful time during the outing. Like they say, pictures speak louder than words. So here is the full album of the trip. Enjoy!

SENTOSA!

Hi All!

We are back to what we love to do... that is.... GO OUT! And 1st for this year was SENTOSA. We headed to Sentosa planning for a picnic but unfortunately the rain poured on us *sad face with frown and pouted lips* but fortunately for us, Sentosa is an island of entertainment so what better than to explore the newly opened Resort World. So we headed to Resort World oohing and aahing at the new shops, hotels, swimming pools, toilets (yes even the toilets were pretty) and art. We explained to children shops for girls and shops for boys etc. etc. etc.

Anyway, when we headed out of Resort World, the sun was up! SO we took the Yellow Line and headed to Pahlawan Beach for our picnic. We played with sand and sea (don't worry parents it was just along the shore), went on the bridge, had snacks (children already had lunch first thing when we got to Sentosa i.e. before heading to Resort World) and run A LOT! Everybody, even the teachers, enjoyed the trip immensely. When it was time to go home (nobody really wanted to go *again sad face with pouted lips but no frown*), everybody hopped on the chartered bus and IMMEDIATELY fell asleep as soon as the bus moved.

In short, it was a very fun day indeed and everybody enjoyed themselves. We hope to have lots more of that in the not so distant future. And now, we present you with ... pictures!

We Wish U a Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year!

Hi All,

We JUST ended our Christmas PARTaY and it was a blast! First of all we'd like to thank the Robinsons for allowing us to have the party at their lovely home. We'd also like to thank the Thompsons for the delicious meals (main dish: Australian barbequed sausages on buttered bread hmm hmm) and the very friendly Santa (from Changi Airport) that gave away presents to all the children that was there!

Everyone was very excited this morning when they arrived at school in their Christmas Themed outfits and presents at hand (for the gift xchange). Even the Teachers got into the mood and dressed up!

Anyway, we headed to Ava's house at 10.30 to start the party. While all the children was playing games with each other, the adults were bbq-ing the sausages and mingling around. After lunch, Santa Claus paid us a special visit and gave away presents to all the children (and teachers too!). We had the children open the presents there so that they can share their joy (of opening presents) with their friends. Alright now... Pictures TIME!

Singapore Zoo! Children's Day!

Hey All~!

Just a little update on what we have been up to. Last Friday (2nd Oct) we treat our children to an outing to the Zoo for Children's Day! Yea!

We took the tram (the first time for some - even for one teacher hehe) all around the zoo. We saw lots of animals. We even spotted "Alex" and "Melman" (those who don't get it, it's from Madagascar hehe).

We were also lucky enough to catch both the "Rainforest fights Back" and the "Splash Safari" shows. One of our children was even selected by the Zookeeper to participate in feeding the a Sealion! How lucky right?! and how fitting when our theme is still Animals.

We had our lunch at the Rainforest Kidzworld and then allowed the children to have Waterplay at the water playground. It was all fun fun fun.

We wished we had until the afternoon to explore the Zoo because there was just soooo much to see. But the children were all tired after Waterplay so took the tram back to the entrance and head back home. For the complete album please visit here!

Hello Netizens (it's citizens of the net)!

It's been a while since the last update. But we'd just like to wish all Selamat Hari Raya! Glucklich Schoolhouse had our own Hari Raya celebration last Friday 25 September. We had everyone wear their traditional costumes and of course we had lots of FOOD!

We thank all parents who gave us Kueh-s (pineapple tarts, cornflakes cookies, drools, brownies, fruit cakes, drools, makmur, drools and A LOT MORE!!!), Fruits and Food (those that don't fall under Kueh-s or Fruits like jelly, ice cream, juice, drools some more, and chicken!) for the children.

Familie Feier

Greetings!

We know we know, we're a LITTLE (chotto?) late in updating you on Familie Feier. But here goes...

We've mentioned earlier that Familie Feier 2009: Masterpiece is a concert and an art auction together into one, and 70% of the proceeds from the auction goes to the Children's Cancer Foundation. We're proud to announce that we managed to raise a total of $536.00 (Singapore Dollars) for the foundation! Hooray! *claps*

We'd like to thank all parents for being there and bidding on the art pieces. Couldn't have done it without you guys! =)Also many thanks to Children's Cancer Foundation for gracing our event that night.

Familie Feier this time will be in two parts, the concert itself and an auction. We will auction off Masterpieces made by our Young Glücklichs and 70% of the proceeds from the auction will go to the Children's Cancer Foundation. Open donations are welcome on the day itself.

Familie Feier 2009 Masterpiece is open to everyone, so bring your Moms, Dads, Aunties, Uncles and EVERYONE there.

Bollywood Veggies & Farm Fishies!

You might be aware (for those not... hmm) that we just had our trip to Bollywood Veggies and Fish Farm. Well, the photos are UP! Please check it out, the links are on your left.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! In line with June Holiday Program

So, first off we head to Bollywood Veggies to check out their farm. The mood was bright in the bus and everyone (the teachers too!) enjoyed the view on the way there, especially when crossing the bridge near Sungei Buloh and seeing Malaysia.

Once there, the VeggieLady took us around the farm for a tour. We learned (and once again the teachers too!) loads of things. For example, who knew that some bananas are poisonous? VeggieLady said you can tell the poisonous ones from the edible ones by the direction their flower points. I.e. if the banana flower points downwards, then it's safe to eat. If it points upwards, then beware, it might even be fatal if consumed! Also, we saw some plants and flowers that is commonly used for cooking and some uncommonly used for household purposes... (Did you know you can rid of cockroaches by slipping some pandan leaves in the area?)

Anyway, sorry for the slight digression, after the enlightening and educational tour, we head of back to the Bollywood Veggies Cafe for Lunch! Menu for the day was Vegetarian Porridge with Iced Milo and Jellies! Not forgetting crackers for snacks =)

We then we had some free time and we let the children roam around to satisfy their own curiosity.

After Bollywood Veggies, we headed to the Fish Farm to see fishies! We got more than fishies I tell you. We got eels and frogs too!

After it all, we head back home with huge smiles. Although everyone was tired, we managed to make the journey back home a memorable one, singing all the way back to Glucklich. Greetings!

It's been a while since the last update. A lot has been going on... Well lets not drift too far back to the past... =) More recently, we just had our Glücklich Treffen aka Parent-Teacher-Meeting. Firstly we would like to THANK ALL PARENTS for taking time off to attend our Treffen.

We started the Treffen by giving out to Parents their child's portfolio and assessment. Then we proceeded on to do the presentation on Glücklich Curriculum and how we are in line with the new MOE's guidelines.

We then showed parents our newly redecorated classrooms, Zones (we now have Maths Zone, Science Zone and Language Zone), Corners (Dress Up Corner, Home Corner, Reading Corner etc.) and also the Studio (Music Studio). At the same time, they also picked up their child's many art pieces, workbooks, assessments and anything that has their child's name on it =).

After it all they were asked to fill up a survey we have prepared. Unfortunately, we encountered some technical difficulty with the survey, so they weren't able to complete it. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

We have however, fixed the problem and it is now up again. Once more, we seek your cooperation to spare us about 5 minutes to finish the survey (click here to finish the survey).

For parents who did not attend the Treffen, you may still call us for a one-on-one appointment. We look forward to hearing from you.

On a final note, we are grateful for your support and attendance, making the Glücklich Treffen a success.

It means “Happy Kid on Board”. So, its really suitable for anyone (young or “quite young” .. hehe) who is happy !

We will hand you few more Car Decal for you to spread happiness of the Happy Kid! to your family and friends. We are running a “We are Happy Kids! Car Decal Contest” from 1 May 2009 until 31 December 2009. All you need to do is to register yourself, your family and friends’ car/vehicle registration number with us by 30 June 2009.

You may win an attractive prize for your family (of 4) when we spot the car/vehicle on the road with “Happy Kid on Board” unique Car Decal.

Terms and Conditions

1. Only vehicles registered for the Glucklich Schoolhouse "We are Happy Kids!" Car Decal Contest are eligible for entry in the Lucky Draw.

Arts Lesson by the Future Animators…

Yesterday, 9 March 2009, Glucklich Schoolhouse played guest to six students from the Institute of Technical Education MacPherson. In support of their project, we allowed them to conduct a Drawing Lesson with our children. Within the two hours, they shared their drawing talents (comes naturally when you’re in the animation course) with our young Glucklichs. After which they had a Mini Competition amongst the children just for fun.

These are the three winning entries (not in order) by Charlene, Vanessa and Abbey. Congratulations!

But not to worry, the others weren’t left out because the youngsters did not come empty handed. They showered the young Glucklichs (even the teachers) with yummy treats and goodies.

Glucklich Schoolhouse is happy to be part of their assignment. We would like to thank their teacher, Ms Maggie, and the rest of the team, Saiful, Ilham (Dan), Christopher, Fadillah, Qing Yang and Haizil, for a job well done.

Date of trip: 22nd January 2009

Once again the Glücklich Schoolhouse is out in looking for adventure, this time in CHINATOWN! As the title suggests, we made the visit to experience the spirit of celebrating the New Year and there is no better place to do just that, than Chinatown.

Let us take you through the trip

No.1 on the Map is where we start our journey. We walked our way on Smith Rd through the busy alley of shopping carts and shop houses, looking at everything and soaking in the festive spirit.

We made stop No.2 at the Sri Mariamman Temple to catch our breath and learn about its rich history.

After that, we continue our journey all the way to No.3 stop; Hong Lim Park to have a picnic (lunch!), allow the children some playtime, and the very important toilet breaks =).

After everybody is well fed, watered and rested, we continue yet again, this time to explore the urban jungle where in it lies the Kampong Boys & Girls playground; The Singapore River.

We walked through even more shop houses and on the way exploring every little detail there is to explore.

From the shops that sells Birds' Nests to the huge vase (made to an aquarium,sort of).

The "sort of" aquarium and the Glucklichians sitting in the Urban Jungle.

But we can't stop just yet. We had to see what was across the river.

No.4 stop; We found out how Sir Stamford Raffles looked like when he first set foot on the Lion City.

After a very fulfilling and educational day for the Glucklich Family, we finally head back to the UOB building, where the bus was waiting to take us home. (But not without a little detour to the museum garden to have some fun No.5 stop hehe).

1st Library Visit for 2009!

Hello Everybody,

Tuesday 25th November...

We started off the day early, at 8.50am. The children had a very relaxing stroll through the health exhibits. They also had fun as they took turns playing dentists at the dentist chair exhibit.

They laughed off aloud at the amusing puppet show (on good oral hygiene and healthy habits). Then, two dentists conducted an interesting talk with games to re-enforce their understanding on good oral hygiene and healthy habits as well the proper brushing method. The children also learned a new song when they walked out of the exhibition (talk).

We continued our day with another bus ride (school’s) to VivoCity. We had Chinese Prawn Noodles for lunch at the sky park, overlooking Sentosa. We believe you would understand when we could not possibly stop the children to enjoy, cool off the very hot day and played at the sky park’s water features. Then, we snacked on some crackers as they “dried themselves” a little… hahaha…

By this time, we had already past their usual daily nap time. Yet, they still have abundance of energy! We managed to squeeze some time to take a monorail ride into Sentosa and back!

We would not have left yet, if not for the school’s bus driver who found us strolling through the mall…hehehe… He took us back to school by 4.40pm.

Friday 12th December...

We treated ALL the children to waterplay at the Yishun Swimming Complex. There was no special occasion for this; we just thought the kids would love to take a swim. So when we got there, as usual, they splashed and went down the slide over and over again immediately after we said "GO". There was even an amused lifeguard who stood by to watch our active children with great interest.

Friday 19th December...

We visited the Montreal Green (neighbourhood park) that day to let off steam hehe. On the way there we spotted an eagle (or owl we weren't too sure) perching on the treetop. We also spotted 2 woodpeckers (believe it or not). They were busily pecking and hopping and pecking. They were quite cute to be honest; orangey and black (or was it the shadow? ... oh well).

So then at the park, we let the children play at the playground. Most of the children were daring enough to try the "big" playground. But no worries, the teachers were right there to assist them when they need us.

We like to... Move It!

Greetings Citizens of THE NET,

It is the school holidays now, and we are packed with activities for our young Glücklichs.

Just yesterday the whole school went to catch MADAGASCAR 2! 30 students, 6 teachers, 3 parents, it was as if the whole theater was made just for us.

We made our way to Sun Plaza early so that we don't have to rush for anything. But the whole trip was everything but rushing.

We got there by 11.50am,
got everyone who had nature's calling to go,
casually took the elevator to the 4th floor,
bought popcorns... and
made our way in for the 12.20pm show. All thanks to great planning. :)

Our young Glücklichs made us proud. Well behaved and mannered, we showed the parents who joined us how the children react when they are with us (btw children didn't know some of their parents was at the back hehe).

Next Tuesday, we are planning on going to the Tooth Exhibition at the Health Promotion Board followed by lunch at Vivocity!

Yep let us repeat... VIVOCITY! We can expect nothing but FUN FUN FUN on that day.

There are still more activities lined up for this holiday but don't worry we'll keep you updated real soon.

31st October... Wet Halloween

Hello Everyone,

So recently we've had some pretty busy weeks. We had a Halloween party in school on 31st October. The children get to wear their costumes and parade around in them all throughout school. We had 3 spidermans, 2 batmans, 2 fairies, a catwoman, a buzz lightyear, a witch and many more costumes of all sorts. We even had a pumpkin boy in the house.

We had our own version of "trick or treat". The teachers hide around the school premises and the children had to find them to get their treats. It was fun seeing them running around looking for their teachers squished under the office tables or lurking behind the sofa... Hehe.

Their treats didn't end there. Mrs Anita Stanley and Mdm Anita Tan (our children's parents) had generously contributed candies and ice cream for all of us. So, on behalf of everybody at Glucklich Schoolhouse, THANK YOU!

After lunch, we brought ALL the children to the Yishun Swimming Complex for waterplay. It's part of the Children's Day celebration that we had planned for them specially for the month of October.

The moment we gave the "OK" signal to jump in, the effect was immediate; Up the stairs, down the slide, up the stairs again, down the yellow slide this time, up again, down headfirst, up one more time, down backwards...

and it goes on...

and on.

When we reached back at school, Auntie Ina was waiting for us with French Toast for tea. Yum yum. Nap time after that was very satisfying for the children. We let them sleep in a little longer than usual...

We were glad that the children were very happy that day. It was a tiring but very fun day for all of us in the Glucklich Schoolhouse family. We hope to do this again soon.

Welcome to the Glucklich Schoolhouse blog. For the first ACTUAL post we would just like to inform you what our blog will be about.

Firstly we will post entries about the excursions or outings we conducted outside school and also interesting happenings in school. You can look forward to looking at photographs taken of our students posted in the entries as well as at our photobucket (parents viewing only).
